Ice Coaching Elite is based at Dundee Ice Arena and is focused on ice skating development.
What is Ice Coaching Elite all about.
Unlike ballet, dance, or gymnastics, where learning occurs in a group lesson format most of the time, figure skating is mastered through private lessons. So….if you are really interested in mastering figure skating, your first step is to find out about the learn to skate programme, or select a private lesson coach depending on which level of ice skating you are already at.
Who you decide to take private ice skating lessons from should not be decided in haste. Your private lesson instructor will be more than just a teacher: he or she will be your mentor, guide, and role model.
There are so many individuals giving skating lessons these days. Choosing the best coach for yourself can be confusing, so take your time before making a commitment to one particular coach.
Here at Dundee Ice arena we have 8 coaches all having qualifications and knowledge in all areas of ice skating, first decide what kind of skater you wish you to become: do you want to be a serious competitive skater, a semi-serious recreational skater, or just skate for fun? A coach that fits in with what goals you choose can be found, but may take time – yes, it is possible to make "a perfect match!"
Competitive skaters have made the decision to put many, many hours into practice on and off the ice, commit to several private lessons each week, and do give up “a normal life” to achieve the skating goals they desire. Champions are not produced by talent alone.
Perhaps the instructor that has given you group lessons already seems to inspire you and make skating fun? Feel free to approach that instructor directly and ask if he or she has time to take you.
Another way to find a private instructor or enquire about the learn to skate programme is to leave your details with Dundee Ice Arena, they will pass on your details to the head coach.
The coaches at Dundee Ice Arena are all qualified NISA licensed coaches varying in different levels.
Also throughout the year ICE organize Spring & Summer Skate Camps combining on and off ice training both important to skater development, I.C.E. are also active with the production of shows and gala's and holding seminars important to coaching development.
